In July, I decided I would try my hand at entering writing contests. There was a local writer's
conference approaching who was hosting a number of contests so I settled on an animal short story and the first page of your novel. I was thrilled to win Honorable Mention in my first attempt at a contest.
I wrote a short story from my horse Taylor's point of view of how we met. I have plans to rework into a longer short story that I can load to Amazon. I had so much fun writing it.
I received great feedback on the novel's first page so I will make those edits and continue writing. I appreciate anything that helps me become a better writer.
The overall experience was a great one and it was fun to do. I plan to enter more writing contests in the future, and I encourage you to do it as well!
